Let Earth Hour inspire you

April 27, 2008

Canada had one of the highest participation rates worldwide in Earth Hour on March 29 with over 150 cities participating. Great job Canada! But why stop there? Check out WWF-Canada’s new interactive website, The Good Life, for actions you can take to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions created through your daily activities. As with Earth Hour, these actions multiplied across the country will send a resounding message to our government that Canadians are ready for change.

Making changes such as washing in cold water, switching to green power or taking public transit can make a big difference. See how your actions, along with the actions of people across Canada, can add up to help fight climate change. So far, Good Life members have saved over 14 million kg of greenhouse gases - the equivalent of taking 2,370 cars off the road for one year. And why not host your own Earth Hour every week or once a month by setting aside 60 minutes to shut off lights and power down non-essential appliances? Get the whole family involved and invite friends and neighbours to follow your lead.
