Green zebra guide

December 16, 2007

This is a totally great idea, like a kind of Gold book for environmentalists. Touted as ‘local savings for sustainable living,’ the Green Zebra Guide, available at Vancouver’s Frogfile Office Essentials, is a coupon book, a directory and an educational resource.

Originating in the San Francisco area, it’s available for the first time in Vancouver for 2008 so that eco-and budget conscious shoppers to explore the best of sustainable living in our city. The guide offers over 250 exclusive offers around the city on everything from fitness studios and bike shops to museums and bookstores.

As an educational resource, the guide has information on living green, including recycling queries you may have regarding old batteries and other toxic materials.

The other cool thing about this is that sales from this guide benefit the City Farmer Youth Education Garden, and passes encourage you to support local businesses. You’ll also find many neighbourhood schools and non-profits orgs. using Green Zebra as a fundraiser. And yes… the guide was printed on 100% recycled fibre (98%) post-consumer waste, processed chlorine free.
